Autumn 2016 Beauty Tips & Trends
Hi everyone! Well, with the sudden weather change came the fall. One day it was crisp and sunny and the next day, cool and rainy. I’m sure if you’re like me, thoughts of wooly sweaters, boots and a hot toddy in front of a fire sounds pretty inviting right now. I’m ready for fall, and with a new season comes a new set of fashion and beauty tips and trends. Here’s a few to consider when changing up your style for Fall.
Beauty Tip 1: Inspired Browns and Brunettes
Who says brown hair color has to be boring? TIGI Copyright Colour has recently launched a new range of color and techniques called Custom Collection Brunettes. From soft, golden mahoganies to deep, mulberry reds, this new collection links perfectly to the trends for Autumn/Winter 2016. Christel Lundqvist, TIGI Global Technical Creative Director says, “These colors and techniques inspire colorists to translate the current trends while pushing their own technical and artistic ability to excite and flatter every client.” Perfect for Autumn!
We are having our own personal workshop at Estilo to learn these new techniques October 10—just in time for your new Fall look!
Beauty Tip 2: Dark Current Lips
Forget nude if you really want to go BOLD! The newest look for lips is dark—ranging from burgundy to purple and even black. The key to wearing dark lipstick is to be very light-handed with the rest of your makeup. Just a wash of a neutral vanilla or a beige tone on the eyelid, very little or no liner (don’t forget mascara, of course!) and a sweep of a neutral color of blush across the apple of your cheek. Make sure to line your lips with a nude liner to prevent bleeding. Muah!
Beauty Tip 3: Layer It Like A Rockstar
I don’t think this hairstyle has ever gone out but the “shag” is back and a great update to the “lob” (long bob) we have been doing the past couple of seasons. This haircut is so versatile and can be worn so many ways. If you have natural curl, use a diffusor and curl defining product to encourage natural movement….the layers really help to bring out any natural texture you might have by releasing weight. Or ROCK IT by flat ironing your hair, making it really edgy (think Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders). Chances are by layering your hair, your will have a fringe coming onto your forehead bringing the focus to your eyes.
Beauty Tip 4: Metallic Eyeshadow
Speaking of the eyes, make your eyes sparkle and shine with shades of gold, silver or bronze metallic eye shadow. Use an eye primer all over your lid then apply shadow. You can line your upper eye lid or leave it unlined.
Remember when trying a new trend, you can ease into it. For example with the dark lipstick, start with either a blood red or a darker red color. You all know what a “nude” lip fanatic I am. Even this trend is a little scary for me. But I’m game to try something new and when we are talking about makeup, it’s very temporary.
There are so many new trends for the season, it’s going to take two blogs to cover all of them. So stay tuned next month…I’ll clue you in to a few more beauty trends I’m sure you’ll want to try out.
Thank you for reading and have a lovely October!
Be bright, beautiful and bold!
